I really would love to work on it for you, but i'm not sure how i would turn it into midi. Can't i just send you in mp3?

A MIDI is the only thing that will import in to the rom. Mp3s wont work for background music. Sorry, but that's just the why it is.

Now, if your still willing to try and make some music, then you should give Anvil Studio a try - http://www.mediafire.com/download/ghp126mhks1phlu/astudio.msi

Its free, kinda user friendly, and it can export and import MIDIs.

Sorry for the double post, but I just wanted to show the intro to make sure it sounds okay with you, sairugoth, before I go any further. It's just a little 26 second demo I cooked up in about half an hour. I hope you like what I have so far.

Is that your first time making a song? If so, than you must be like an natural at making music. But, to tell you the truth, that song sounds more like an epic boss battle than a dungeon song.  A dungeon song needs to be more slower and calm.

But other than that, I would really love to replace the boss battling song with what your cooking up right now. :)

Thanks for the compliments! Yeah, I was thinking about the speed and intensity while I was composing this. I tried slowing this down a bit, but some of the things I wanted to do just didn't sound as full when it was slowed down. Oh and about my music experience, I'm actually a musician. I play a variety of instruments by ear. (Including guitar) What you are hearing is just me plugging in what pops into my head and then adding parts to layer it a bit so it sounds complete. I get loads of requests on PureZC to compose music. So this was pretty much another day at the office, so to speak.

Yeah, it does sound like a boss battle. The reason it sounds like it does is because I was picturing in my head climbing up into the heavens to come upon an impenetrable fortress loaded with tough enemies and loads of traps to snare trespassers. If you still want this song, it would take me (literally) a minute to split the intro from the rest of the song and get it InstEd ready.

Are you kidding, of cores I want it , its epic! But really, I like the intro on it, I think it makes it sound better. All I really need is the midi, I'm just not ready to start importing music just yet. So I'll just PM you for the midi later.

EDIT: Also, I've updated the first post to have a "Music" spoiler.

Alright, I have it saved. Oh and when I said I was splitting the intro, that was because you can loop it if I do that. Literally all that needs to be looped is the wind at the beginning. When I import music, I split the intro off from the looping part of the song so I can organize it better upon loading it into InstEd. Then I just combine the control files and viola, looped music that sounds the way I want it. Also, if there are any instruments you want me to swap out for or if you want the tempo faster, let me know. It is your game, after all. :)

If it weren't for work and university getting in the way, I'd love to help out with the music. For now though, it sounds like you've already got a handful of people on it already, so I guess that's no problem! Maybe in the future when I've not got so much work to do.

The Thunder Surge Temple looks pretty dope!

Here is the official piece for Hyrule Winter. http://1drv.ms/1v8RYTA

Originally this began as a much shorter piece, but I extended it to the exact time of the night and day cycle of OOT. This piece has a ballad feel written using some traditional instruments, except the choir to create a sad, calming mood to the piece: this song has been intentionally mixed in a way to convey peace and softness instead of loud and brash.

Was that directed at me Mallos? If so, I do take quite alot of inspiration from classic Runescape music for years when I was preparing to start composing as a career goal, I started looking at the Midi files associated with the music to gather some thoughts and see how difficult it would be to come up with ideas for game and film composition. When I started out composing I made some covers of the Runescape music, to try and catch the attention of Jagex.

I think the experiences I had playing Zelda and Runescape when I was younger have definitely given me some direct vision and perspective on the type of sound I would like to create for when I do work on mods and such.
