  1. I'm probably the oddball out, but I'd like to see a futuristic Zelda going on. I've always been interested in science fiction, and I think the story would be interesting in a new setting. Get it out of medieval (which is my more favorite time, admittedly) and perhaps get it into the late 1700s. They've already explored train travel, and I thought that was awesome. I'd like to see what they could do with more freedom. I don't care if people say "it's not Zelda". To me, Zelda is about exploration, battles, and story. I think there's be some interesting potential.
  2. I have it linked in my tutorial thread, but on a side note due to DB and me trying to figure this out: The new file starting offset is at 0xB1F774 24 0C XX XX X= exit list number To make the game start out in a cutscene from another part of the game, use the first exit number in the list (http://wiki.spinout182.com/w/Debug_ROM:_Exit_List). For example, if you want the game to start out in Kakariko Village at the burning village cutscene, then set the offset to "24 0C 00 DB" To make the cutscene play, you must go to the cutscene offset which is at 0xB20468 3408 FFFx We can see in the debug rom that cutscene 0 is the burning village scene. So change the FFFx to FFF0. If you don't want to use a cutscene, then change it to 0000. And there you go, the game starts you in the village as it's burning. And then you can edit cutscenes/text from there. Video in action:
  3. Is that supposed to be Ganondorf butt nekkid dancing in the boss chamber? >.< I feel like I have to pray to all the gods for cleansing after that image went through my brain.
  4. That's really cool, at this point, is there a way to edit the cutscenes with the viewer?
  5. Okay, just reporting on SharpOcarina, a problem I've been having, and just discovered the fix for it (thanks to JSA!). This is probably something that could be fixed in a future release, because it's rather frustrating if you don't know what's going on. SO doesn't fix entrance spawns correctly in the map. In my recent forest map, I have two exits. 0185 from custom map to hyrule field and 0169 from custom map to forest temple. I had two spawns set up, one at the start of the map, and the other in the hollow of a tree leading out. I set my collision types correctly and all that, and everything was pretty much working except for one thing. The problem that kept occurring was Link always spawned at the beginning of the map, in my first spawn. There were two things that weren't happening with SharpOcarina that I didn't realize. First, it doesn't fix the spawns that you set into the map, the variables are set to 0000 instead of 0FFF, so Link wouldn't have been able to spawn there anyway, as 0000 is invalid. Also, it wasn't fixing the entrances. So, even though I had set two spawns, which should equal 00 and 01, and had set the exit collision accordingly (from hyrule field I have 00EE, and from forest temple I have 0209), it wasn't spawning Link in the second spawn. JSA let me know that I had to go into the hex editor and fix the entrance index, as both spawns were set to 00 00, and change the second one to 01 00 as per instructions: ppmm (repeats for each entry) p = Which start position to use, defined by the start positions list (command 0x00) for the scene m = Which map to load for this entrance I would suggest a future update/bug fix to perhaps fix the problem of this.
  6. I use camtasia studio, I've never had an issue with it. You'll have to crack it though if you don't want to pay a lot.
  7. I'd have to actually look at the program to know what it does, but looking at the user guide, looks like it pretty much does everything. I might have to try it out at some point, I've always been interested in editing Banjo.
  8. Something I just finished up. The original pattern had the horse be grey. I was all...no, I want pink. XD
  9. Hehe, my husband did this one for me for my birthday, during the days when I did speedruns of Twilight Princess. You have to do what's called a Sword and Shield skip, and you have to use a bokoblin to pull off the trick, and sometimes he doesn't ALWAYS do what you want him to do. This is a piece of atwork from Kats by Kelly. Still have to add colour to this little guy.
  10. Welcome, I hope you enjoy your stay. Your stuff looks great, btw.
  11. I'm not a lawyer either, but by them being the Intellectual Property owner, I believe they can determine the use of their product. "A copyright is an exclusive right granted to an author of a literary, musical, audiovisual or artistic work, giving the author the sole right to reproduce and distribute that work. There are several different types of copyrights which are associated with Nintendo's products. These include various copyrights in Nintendo's software source code, executable code, game visual display, game music, game characters, product packaging, game manuals and labels; hardware chip microcode; artwork and publications." They do say on their website that they don't approve of the 'second copy' argument. Now, whether or not they can take you to court and win that's another matter. By all means, you can shift through this if you want to: http://doperoms.com/dmca.pdf Now, this also brings up the question of items like this that are sold: https://www.thinkgeek.com/product/f280/?srp=2 I want to know how THIS is legal. They even say: If someone actually did some research, they'd realize that these could be played for FREE, not for 150 bucks.
  12. Yeah, I played on hard, so you get extra for that as well.
  13. The article linked to says "new brand". Wouldn't that mean...a new brand not released before?
  14. The direction I'm going in with Shattered Fate is having it like an older game that dumps you into it without much explanation. There's a very basic background with what went on, but other than that, it's completely open world exploration, no linear stuff going on. With Voyager, it's very story centric and cutscene driven for you to know what to do and where to go, this is due to me not knowing how to change the original cutscenes or take them out. I'm trying to avoid exposition dump as much as possible in Fate. I have no cutscenes whatsoever to get the storyline across. The only problem is...it's VERY difficult for me to do this. I'm not sure how to balance open world exploration with a coherent story. Can any of you suggest older games that had a storyline but no cutscenes? I'd like to look some of them up and try them out to get the feel for how they did it. Fire Emblem and Final Fantasy have been suggested already, but even those had some sort of "cutscene" with them. I need a game that doesn't have cutscenes, but has a storyline that you can glean from NPC and text in-game.
  15. Well, won't be tricky for my score, I know I'm in last place. XD
  16. There's also the fact that no matter what it brings to the table, there's still going to be the issue of connecting it every 24 hours, the threat of no used games (unless they produce a better system between here and E3). The thing could jump through hoops and cook dinner for me, and those issues still won't go away. The PS3 was released with some weird stuff, admittedly, but it was not released with the thread of privacy invasion, fees for used games, and must be online always to function (excuse me, once every 24 hours is pretty much online always).
  17. The problem with people complaining that "all hasn't been revealed, give it time". This is their ONE chance (c wut I did there?) to give a first impression of the system. I don't care about what comes after, because this is what they chose to reveal the system with. THEY CHOSE to reveal a gaming system with emphasis on TV. It doesn't matter if they try and backpedal afterwards, because this is what they are obviously most proud of. Fish. Just sayin'. I wouldn't reveal a huge game/console/whatever with fish that move out of the way.
  18. Indeed, N64 graphics lend themselves well to the craft.
  19. Took me a while, but I finally finished up my Link and Epona! Papercraft really relaxes me same as crosstitch. The worst part of this figure though was Epona's mane. My god, that mane. Sorry for the sub-par photos, lighting was a bit crap, but had all the lights on in the kitchen. These pics look really awesome in 3D though.
  20. That made me laugh way too hard. XD Also: http://games.ninemsn.com.au/news/privacy-breach-xbox-one-a-twisted-nightmare
  21. I don't have a PS3, but I also back up the Assassin's Creed game series. You HAVE to start at the beginning though, otherwise the story will not make sense. Screw that recap in III, doesn't do the series justice.
  22. Can you like...mesh together the ZLE2 collision/landscape editing and an interface like UoT? I would really like a program that does what Utility can do, but that program doesn't work on my computer. It crashes all the time. I think everyone who starts a mod wants to edit the landscape to be really awesome, but the only two tools I know for it is ZLE2 (which I'm trying to put together a tutorial series on), and UoT (which crashes and thus I can't put a tutorial out on). If anyone knows other tools to edit the landscape, that would be appreciative.
  23. I'd sure be interested. Would be cool to have some Indiana Jones stuff going on.
  24. Yoshio Sakamoto doesn't like the American made Metroid Prime series, that's why he made Other M (which pretty much retconned them). He's gone on record saying that they're non-canon. There's no we're going to get anything like the Prime series again at least from him.
