I enjoy taking a story and running with it. I enjoy Celtic music--especially bagpipes and fiddles with a great pace to it. I enjoy modding (of course). And I love my husband and pet fish. Because the apartment is stupid and won't let dogs or cats. Meh.

  1. Sorry, I've been away and wasn't able to post on here, but I return now. >_> Real life stuff was going on.
  2. From the website: "You told us how much you loved the flexibility you have today with games delivered on disc. The ability to lend, share, and resell these games at your discretion is of incredible importance to you. Also important to you is the freedom to play offline, for any length of time, anywhere in the world." NO. SHIT. It's almost like when we buy something, we OWN it and should be able to do anything we want to with it! Now we get to sit back and watch them scrape the egg off their face. *grins and grabs popcorn* As said above though, it's almost too little too late. The company has expressed their opinions of what people want/need, and it's very concerning not only as a gamer, but as a consumer as well. It sort of steps on the idea of ownership and what rights you have with the items you own. EDIT: Plus, instead of Xbone, I vote we call it X180 now. Plus: "We've been closely listening to consumer feedback." "We've been closely watching preorder numbers." would probably be more accurate.
  3. My tenth grade English teacher brought us outside of our classroom, told us to start running across the parking lot, and pretend that the city was being bombed. She then proceeded to throw rocks at the entire class, and we started really booking it. Me and another kid hid behind a truck because she couldn't throw them at the truck. We were reading a book that had bombings in it, and she wanted us to feel the fear. Parents were not happy when they heard the news. I didn't actually get hurt, but I instantly thought about that, so wanted to share it. Otherwise, just the generic belt-whipping if I was bad (only a few times, thankfully). The sound of my dad's belt being brought out of the loops is a sound I'll never, ever forget. *shudder* Once I managed to stuff my pants full of socks though, and totally got away with it. My husband has a scar on his eyebrow from what we lovingly call the "Nintendo Scar". When he was little he fell and his NES caught his eyebrow and scraped it down so far that hair doesn't even grow on that part of his eyebrow anymore. Stitches and everything.
  4. I went into Gamestop at the mall today to get a cover for Josh's 3DS XL, and I stood there and listened to the employee prattle on forever about the Xbox One and how it was so awesome. He said nothing about PS4 or the crap that goes with the X1, he even told the customer he was talking to that he was an Xbox fan primarily, so he's a bit biased. I therefore decided to pretend I wanted to buy a WiiU, and said that I was interested in buying it and I had heard about that 24-hour check-in with the X1. This is exactly the conversation that went on: Employee: "Oh, there's no need to worry about that, I mean, everything is connected today." Me: "I guess, it still makes me nervous though, but I like Nintendo, the WiiU looks pretty cool I think. I was interested in getting that so I don't have to pay for online or worry about being connected to the internet." Employee: "There really aren't any games for the WiiU, maybe like, two." Me: "Well, there's a lot of games I'm pretty interested in, I think the console looks great." Employee: "I don't think Nintendo is going to win with home consoles, Sony and Microsoft is where it's at. MS and Sony both LOVE us, so we're trying to give them as much support, and we'll be a retailer that'll be able to sell the used games too, I mean, we're so big, it's not going to hurt us at all. Nintendo hates us, so no surprise their console isn't doing very well." Me: "Hmm. Guess we'll have to see what happens then." I. Was. Stunned. Utterly disgusted in this employee. He just had a customer come up to him and express interest in buying the WiiU, and he basically said there was no point. He didn't mention about the cool games coming out for it soon, nor the cool games that are already out (there ARE a few that I own, just because there aren't a lot doesn't mean it sucks). I almost called the store when I got home and complained about him. THIS is how Microsoft is going to get sales. By biased employees. No matter what your biased, you sell your material in your store, you don't put anything down unless it legitimately deserves it, and even then, you merely hint at it, you don't come right out and say it.
  5. Nothing like the company giving us permission to not buy their product. Their PR sucks.
  6. Demise is freakin' awesome looking in SS, I absolutely loved his design, so much badass with it. Which always made me wonder why he had Ghirahim with him because he's so....well....non-badass (fruity). But yeah, Ganondorf is way more recognizable in terms of character design. As long as they don't clone Falcon moveset with him, I'll be happy. I won't be sad if he's entirely taken out of the game though. But frankly, if anything came out of Skyward Sword, I'd want it to be Groose, even over Demise. Because...GROOSE. But he won't get in, I realize that. But it needs to be done.
  7. If I had to choose between Lloyd or Pacman, I'd much rather have Lloyd. The Tales series is very big and a ton of people love them. Lloyd is a recognizable character (as is Pacman) but is infinitely more interesting in design than a little yellow ball with a mouth, I'm sorry. I was thinking about all of this earlier in the week, and the problem is this: Nintendo has to balance between what the fans want with what the fans will recognize (which also means that Pacman will be over Lloyd). Recognizable characters will most likely be chosen above characters that the fans want, even though sometimes those two criteria might be the same (Sonic is recognizable as well as Megaman, and I believe the fans wanted both). There's a lot of people (on the smash FAQ board) who are suggesting characters from very obscure games, even games that are released in Japan only. Nintendo must sell their game--no two ways about it. They must make money. They aren't going to make money from obscure characters that no one has heard about. Wii Fit Trainer is awesome, because it encompasses a series that many, many people have played, and in fact might have gotten a Wii because of it. Villager encompasses a well known AC series and is also instantly recognizable. And so on and so forth. Nintendo's goal is when people go into the store and pick up a game, they look at the back of the cover and see characters that they want to play. They aren't going to play as characters they've never heard of or seen, and thus Nintendo must market both to fans and the masses. This is why Smash Bros. is so interesting to me--the balance between the two must be met and it's very hard to predict (to me anyway) what Nintendo might put in. On a side note, Josh said he would probably openly weep in joy if Banjo and Kazooie got in. Which he also states will never, ever happen.
  8. I've added a link in the tutorial page to this thread.
  9. >.> I guess I could weigh in since I'm a woman. The problem with asking advice to different people on how to get a girlfriend, is that they aren't you. Everyone's personalities are different, and thus, their advice on what to do or say will be different. If you try and act like someone your not, that's a major no. With me and my husband, we did meet online with youtube actually. We got to know each other, I moved, and in two years we were living on our own and married. It's just one of those things that happened to work out really, really well. We had similar interests, but weren't the same person. That old saying opposites attract? It's kind of true and kind of not. You don't want someone SO different you don't see eye to eye, and you don't want to marry or get in a relationship with a carbon copy of yourself. What you need is someone who has a little bit of you AND something different. Thus, the whole thing of "your other half". I hadn't gotten into any sort of relationship before Josh because I just knew any guy I met wasn't for me. I met Josh and I really from day 3 of us talking knew that I wanted to marry the man. I'd NEVER thought about anyone like that before. Ever. But he really was "the one" as cliched as that might be. So my first relationship was when I was over 21 years of age, which is kind of crazy nowedays to most folks, but that's how I was. Don't rush it, that's the advice I can give. If he meets the person he really likes, then you can't force them to like you back. Just remember, there's a difference too between loving someone and lusting after someone. With age, you learn to tell the difference.
  10. I am personally excited about Wii Fit Trainer, not only because of the inclusion of the game, but I was able to stump my husband in guessing the next character, even with hints. He's ALL into this stuff and he was like "woah, that's the WTF character for the game, no doubt."
  11. I can't like that PS4 video enough, seriously.
  12. We all have differences, medo, but I will be sorry to see you go. We've had our agreements and disagreements, but in the end, I think you're a great person. Sometimes you need someone who will be blunt with something, and/or have a strong opinion. *gives cookie* Don't leave because of being mad, okay?
  13. Yep, as per a comment I saw somewhere: "$500 dollars for a cable box that allows me to lease games - as long as I pay $60 for them, check for permission every 24 hours, and don't share them with anyone? Could you throw in a punch in the nose for $50 extra?"
  14. OMG Tetrisphere! I have that on my N64, I had fun with it, I might have to dig out the capture card for this one.
  15. He'll always be closer to death than you. lol ;~; *sniff*
