  1. Welcome to the GCN MiauCloud, I'm one of the admins here, it's good to see more content producers
  2. Interesting choice of songs to sequence. I like it
  3. You need to add an obj file to both the collision model field and to the rooms tab by clicking 'add room'. Looks like you haven't done the second part.
  4. You could use braces to capture multiple values or a range: is (2,5,7,22) do something() is (2-22) do something() is ("cats","dogs","eels","fish") do something()
  5. I've always preferred the system of switch statements compared to if/else branches since they allow for more easily readable branches, not to mention you could still include else as a handler in the event of unexpected input. switch (x) case 2 something() case 4 something() case else something()
  6. An intermediate file format is a good idea. The conversion software should be something simple to put together if you're converting from one text-based format like obj to another.
  7. Welcome back, good to see you again.
  8. Yeah, the requirement is to foster community participation and get people talking about...stuff. Whatever happens to be happening. If people join with the intention of participating anyway, it's moot and doesn't really need to serve its purpose. Elsewise, it's a useful way to get people who aren't immediately interested in the community as a whole integrated somewhat.
  9. If it does eventuate that non-OEM hardware starts getting lockouts implemented, I see one of two things happening here. 1) BIOS flashing will go through the roof. 2) New hardware manufacturers will emerge.

Welcome to the GCN! Try not to make lots of posts in a row, even if you're the thread starter. If you need to bump an older thread of yours with an update, it's fine, but three in quick succession isn't so good. It's a forum, not a chat client I've merged your first three posts.
  11. I clearly haven't explained myself clearly. Here's the flow you'd have in place. Open the GUI tool > Create definition file for either a map or an object > Load obj file(s) into editor > Add relevant data (culling types, texture tile mode, colouration/normals, matrices (for objects), collision data (for map/scenes) > Save definition file and any data appended to obj/mtl files > Pass definition file and obj/mtl files to CLI > CLI processes dlists > GUI checks for CLI output .bin files, assembles remaining data (collision definitions, matrices etc into final .zmap/.zscene or .zobj > Injects to relevant offsets if provided, otherwise leaves DEADBEEF at relevant locations. You'd have different CLI programs depending on the options selected in the GUI, such as a different parser for a map compared to an object, and even different parsers for OOT/MM if required. I can't be bothered doing a proper flow, but that should give you a better idea of what I mean.
  12. I honestly think that a lot of trouble could be avoided by simply passing the job of creating the dlists to Model2F3DEX2, all you'd need to do is parse all the data from the preview window regarding culling, shading etc to the executable and the source obj/mtl file and you'd have a hardware functional output. It's known that the program works, why not just use SO as a frontend for now? That was going to be my original suggestion regarding a new tool set anyway; using a GUI program for creating the content and then passing it all to CLI programs for parsing. It keeps it modular, easier to update, and different CLIs can be switched out for OOT/MM if required.
  13. Very nice work, you're matching the style nicely You could probably get away with extruding a few elements on the face of the shield, but it looks great as-is.
  14. B is far simpler and will probably import more cleanly.
  15. Name: Actual name is Ferrer, is only known as Nadoorn or Mitheer Nick Name: Age: Appears to be in his late 30s. Race: Gerudo/Human Appearance: Coppery red hair, burning orange eyes, darkish skin, small rounded ears, tall and lanky, keeps arms and part of torso covered with gloves and light armour at all times where possible, wears light clothing, mostly brown/tan/white coloured fabrics with blue highlights, two piercings in left ear Height: Approximately 2 metres Weight: Approximately 180 kilograms Proportionality: Ferrer in this form is slightly more heavyset than in his normal form, however he is still quite lanky. Equipment: Light's Queen, a large single-edged longsword, a pair of metal forearm bracers, Hylian longbow Personal Strengths: Ferrer can be classified as a 'genius', however much of what he does is simply attributable to his very long life. He has a great deal of battle experience, and an extensive knowledge of the history of Hyrule, having lived through parts of it separated by time-lapses of millennial proportions. He can draw on abnormally large amounts of magic, however he is not always able to control it; the more magic, the greater the chance of catastrophe unless he has requested aid from the Goddesses. Personal Weaknesses: Ferrer is level headed most of the time, however when he fights, he will occasionally enter a state of berserk rage that he is unable to control. He will disregard his own physical wellbeing and does not always distinguish friend from foe. He also severely dislikes large spiders, larger Skulltula species terrify him enough that his composure may break, however this doesn't always last long. Small backstory: Ferrer does not originate from Hyrule, he is an inter-universal traveller; however he has been to Hyrule numerous times in the past. On his initial visits, he made an agreement with the Goddesses of Hyrule that the full extent of his power would be held in check by them, and any major decisions he made that would affect the flow of events in Hyrule had to be run past them first. He also made an agreement whereby if an external force threatened the stability of the world, he would repel that force. Ferrer has, by this point, largely faded from the memories of the people of Hyrule, so he is largely unknown, aside from the Goddesses who are always aware of his presence within their world, and the Hylian Royal Family along with some scholars.
  16. Okay, so I'll be RPing as Ferrer in his Gerudo/Human form, who goes by the name of Nadoorn. As he's not technically a Gerudo, a halfbreed is probably the best option.
  17. Whoop. I'm Daniel, 26 (27 in September), genderqueer, pan, poly, pudgy in places, manic depressive and I've been around Zelda boards in general far too long. I make models, music, long walls of text (trying to be concise here, though) and dabble in programming though I'm not as skilled in that as anything else. I did a lot of early patchy documentation of puzzle elements, doors, and kept nagging cooliscool to finish geometry editing in UoT back when that was still a thing. I started making a dungeon out of Dampe's Grave and the Windmill, never finished it. Currently working on a couple of projects that I'm not posting much about since there's not much worth showing yet.
  18. Theoretically, you should be able to change the texture pointers for the other buttons, assuming each one has a separate entry.
  19. Hmm. So no seamless Clock Town, then. Interesting design choice, shifting the Bank to the back of the clock tower. Not sure I like the new owl statues. Still excited, though
  20. Apparently the beginnings of an emulator are being worked on.
  21. I want to see whoever has the copy currently, do a dump of the 64DD version of Super Mario 64.
  22. I wonder if some of the Z rotation params are things like 'explosion', 'walk into', 'roll into' etc? Be good to test it. I'm assuming that the switch flags are just a boolean of 003F and the clear flag to be used? If so, does it use the first or second byte?
  23. Okay, so since I haven't done this in a while, bear with me. CAS and I are starting an RP which is set a couple of generations after the original Hyrule's Rebirth Era (Spirit Tracks) and are bringing in a few elements from past games and other sources. Gerudo, Gorons and Zora are all present in large numbers, Shiekah less so but there are a few. Some new demons are rising, magic is growing again alongside technology, and the great and powerful are being drawn to New Hyrule to help decide its fate. So. This here thread is for expressions of interest in joining up and clarifying a few things about the format of the RP itself, deciding things such as acceptable content, who will be playing who, a little bit of common established history, and will likely be re-purposed as an out of character thread for discussions and collaborations on the various threads of the plot. I will be playing as Nadoorn, the Gerudo form of my principal character, and will also be directing various enemies of small to larger scale. You can put yourself wherever you wish in this conflict, but let's talk about it here first Discussion begin!
