Welcome to The-GCN, hope you enjoy your stay here.
  2. Interesting name, ________. But I think I'll call you Frank, welcome to the GCN.
  3. What do I expect? A list of the Wii U launch titles, further details on both the new Xbox and the new Playstation, and a bunch of over-hyping about Black Ops II. What do I want? I want Nintendo to address the current state of the 3DS, which is failing. I want to see Nintendo do or reveal something that will bring the 3DS out of this failing state. Though I highly doubt they will. What do I wish for? FUCKING HALF LIFE 3.
  4. Before I go on this rant please remember, this is my opinion, if don't agree with it, ignore it. Call of Duty 4 is where it all started, it sold very well and was very fun at the time. I'm assuming the thought process Infinity Ward had was something like this, "Since it worked this time, it will most likely work forever!" Then Activision, Infinity Ward, and Treyarch continued to do the same thing, over and over again. Notice how Modern Warfare 3 looks exactly like Modern Warfare 2. Why do you ask? People want Call of Duty, it's a fact, the sales show it (unfortunately.) With each re-release of a Call of Duty game in November, it sells more than it previously did. The reason for this is our society is full of young conformists. If you notice, many people that currently play Call of Duty are very immature and under the age of 17 (though there are plenty of exceptions.) That is Activision's target audience because they know these people won't stop playing or buying Call of Duty as long as it stays moderately popular. It's unfathomable how many people are attracted to such a stupid idea. "Let's make the same game 10 times for 10 years and maybe we'll become billionaires!" Well, they have pretty much succeeded that so far. War is a terrible thing, why someone would want to simulate it is absolutely baffling. I simulated it for a while, and I'm absolutely baffled by myself. Not only did it ruin the Timesplitters series but it is also ruining the video game industry as a whole. Now the stereotypical gamer is a screaming, squeaky-voiced 10 year old. Call of Duty does much more bad than it does good. Activision should have stopped trying to push the development of Call of Duty after Modern Warfare 2. But no, they did the exact opposite. I agree with To Coool when he says: Call of Duty, please gtfo.
  5. I'll be chilling there a little.

    Problem with Glide64

I will try that, thanks for the advice.

    Problem with Glide64

Keep in mind the problem I'm about to explain happens with any version of Glide that I use that supports the features I need. The problem also happens with both versions 1.6 and 1.7 of Project64 and 1964. Also keep in mind that switching plugins isn't a solution but if there is no solution then oh well, I guess. Switching to a better emulator is an option but I don't know which one is the better than Project64 for what I will be using it for (which is playing n64 games in a 16:9 aspect ratio with hi-res textures.)System Specs:Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (6.1, Build 7600)Processor: Intel® Pentium® Dual CPU E2180 @ 2.00GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.0GHzMemory: 4096MB RAMDirectX Version: DirectX 11Card name: NVIDIA GeForce GT 240Display Memory: 2257 MBDedicated Memory: 466 MBShared Memory: 1791 MBCurrent Mode: 1920 x 1080 (32 bit) (60Hz)Problem:I have this pack of textures I want to use for Majora's Mask, but I refuse to settle for Rices video plugin due to the fact that Glide is superior in my opinion and has a "Force 16:9" option that I will always hold dear. So I set everything up the way it should be for my system and start the emulation. It loads about 5000 textures then Project64 instantly crashes. It just closes completely, not even a crash report window pops up. What can I do to fix this? For now I'm going to assume that it's a problem with my operating system. I have heard that Windows 7 x64 doesn't like Project64 sometimes. But because it's a bitch to install another operating system, telling me a way around that would be appreciated. Here are my "Glide 64 'Final' Date: Dec 29 2011" settings:Note that in the picture above, the resolutions aren't what they usually are because I'm on a temporary monitor, it should say, "1920x1080 32bpp 60Hz" under full-screen resolution.
  8. Surfing your YouTube channel made me lose the game, how joyful. I honestly should have seen it coming. And so should have you...
  9. Oh dear god, they might be memories but no one said they are good memories. *Resists temptation to make an "excuse me princess" joke*
  10. Congratulations on a documentation well written! This will benefit the entire community I'm sure. Told you.
  11. Okay I understand that.
  12. Why is this person treating vampires as if they are real? If an author wants to make changes to something that doesn't exist I don't see how that's a problem. Hell, she could have just changed the name of the race of both the vampires and the werewolves to something completely different and series would have received half the amount of hate and attention in general.
  13. That's what I figured you have, I have almost the exact same cords, they are very nice especially when upscaling. I also quoted HD Cables because the Wii isn't capable of HD. The only HD Cables are these kind of 480p component cables (which are actually capable of 1080i, but again the Wii doesn't support that) or options that upscale the Wii to 1080p automatically for you upon output. Kinda like this: http://www.neoya.com/shop/wii2hdmi/.
  14. If I could afford them, I would get them. And also specifically which "HD cables" did you buy?
  15. I got a temp-ban for making a topic like this on a forum site like 5 years ago, just throwing an irrelevant comment out there.
  16. Well Megaupload, it's been a long journey.
  17. I might have more knives but that plushy is the bees knees. Naxy's hill.
  18. Anything against that hater. By the way Rainbow Dash you also broke rule#2, break the other and I'm just going to act like your not in the topic.
  19. UR JUST JELLY OF THE INFINITE CONSTRUCTION POSSIBILITIES OUR BLOCKS GIVE US *Sends Rainbow Dash to the Nether* Ma hill. And besides, as a condom at least I'm getting some.
  20. LOL WIN Because of that, your hill.
  21. King of the hill has always and most likely will forever be an epically fun forum game. Why hasn't someone made one of these on The-GCN yet? Well, I'm here to fix this issue. (If there somehow is a topic for King of the Hill that I missed while searching for one, you all have full right to flame the shit out of me for being an idiot.) Grounds Rules: - Don't be unfair - Don't be an ass - You must be creative, no "I took the hill because I can," that's lame Posts go as: As creator of the hill I dub myself the current hill tyrant. My hill. OFF TOPIC: By the way, expect many apocalypses.

    Dubstep fans?

Bassnectar is alright, personally I prefer Ry Legit or Doctor P. Dubstep is hit or miss, about 80% of the genre is completely horrible, badly and recognizably sample-filled generic crap. But that's the 80% I choose not to listen to.

    Dubstep fans?

I DUBSTEP See what I did there?
  24. That stereotypical answer annoys me, if graphics didn't matter most of us wouldn't be here. Wasn't it originally Zeth's texture hacks that brought a lot of people to this community in the first place? Remember that texture hacks are graphical modifications. To makes this concept even easier to understand: Imagine, two games, with the exact same gameplay but one has better graphics, the other one, not so much. Any logical person would go to the one with the better looks, because it's human instinct and kind of common sense. Sorry, I'm starting to sound like an asshole aren't I? just sayin We should be getting back to topic now, shouldn't we?
  25. Sounds pretty awesome. I'll be waiting for screenshots.
