  1. The shards were not made with hardware-compatibility in mind, I think.

Yep, but I liked the fact that the shards model not showing wasn't freezing my console, so the hack is playable with no problem (I'm not exactly sure about that, I must finish it before saying anything)

  2. Here are the videos, with two maps that I made for test :

The strange thing here is that Link is always visible (but there is still the translucent blocks problem)

(Sorry for the gameplay, I had a HIGH latency while recording)

  3. To recap for everyone, display list conversions made by...

    • SharpOcarina: apparently work on hardware, have glitches?

So yeah, only use Model2F3DEX2 if you want stuff to work on the real hardware. Or be prepared to try and manually fix SharpOcarina's bugs, namely the ordering problem Arcaith described; can maybe be fixed by rewriting the mesh header...?

Yeah, I just tested SharpOcarina and there is a glitch which make Link disappear when confronted to the map faces (which is less glitchy than I expected but I believe that it's a problem hé hé) :

  4. Thanks for your responses, I believe that I found where the location infos are.

I'm using Scroll of Time to understand all of that and I seen that two files a created with the extractor : nes_message_data_static which is used to contain all the text, and table which contain the location infos (I believe).

I'll take a look at it today.

  5. So I just tested to include the french texts into the 1.0 US rom. I tried to import the intro texts, but there is a strange bug which cause a message box loop (the same message box is repeating with the B button saying STOP)

Here is the US version hex code :

And the PAL french one :

What could be the problem ?

    Thanks !

  6. Oh. I never thought about the fact that PAL has language selection, since I myself never used it. I've avoided playing on PAL for the last few years now because it is insanely slow compared to NTSC.

But yeah, it should be very possible to revert the things that were patched. How difficult it'd be, I don't know. I myself wouldn't be able to do it, because I haven't learned how to swap music in the game to begin with.

Maybe there's someone else willing to help out.

There is a way to make N64 PAL games to run at 60 hz by editing the rom header with some hex editor, I can't remember if the game was running in a fine way.

Edit : Here is a screen of the modification that you can do :

Edit 2 : Well, I just re-tested the modification and the sound is speeded up too, so don't do it if you want to play the game.

  7. It should certainly be possible to uncensor the later versions.

However, I do not really see why you'd want to go through the trouble of doing that?

The only difference in the game is pretty much the censorships, and a very small amount of patched glitches, which you won't notice unless you try to do them.

Wouldn't it be easier to just play 1.0 in this case?

And for the second part.. That's something I'm interested in as well. I've been wanting to know what it is that cause hardware issues.

    Thanks for your reply,

Well the game don't exist in PAL with the proper Temple of Fire music and the other censored things, so I would find interesting to play the game in French and with all the censor removed.

I will do some tests on my Everdrive to see what could make the console not booting/freezing the game.

  8. Hey, how are you all ?  :)

I have some questions for you, one about Ocarina of Time and one about the Everdrive.

I wanted to know if there is a way to restore all the censored elements from US 1.0/Japanese version in the US 1.2 or in the EU 1.0/1.1 roms ? (the Temple of Fire chants, red blood etc...)

I also wanted to know what are the elements to respect in order to make Ocarina of Time hacks working on an Everdrive (or even on an 64Drive or any other SDCard cartidges) ? I seen that a new version of Model2N64 is going to be released, a version that could make custom models etc... working on the actual hardware.

    Thanks all !  ;)

  9. As long as I know, the Hero of Time (OoT Link) is only voiced by 2 persons: Fujiko Takimoto (child) and Nobuyuki Hiyama (retarded adult).

Those are the final version voice actors, there were two voice actors (maybe more but just two known voice actors) in some beta versions of the game.

  10. Hello guys !

I've been searching some informations about the Ocarina of Time Link's 2nd voice actor but I can't find anything now :o I seen a video some times ago with three footages that showed the three voice actors (the first one is the Japanese one from the "Live Everything" VHS, the second one that I'm searching was a lower pitched one and the third one (the final one).

Have you any informations or videos about that second voice actor ?

Merci beaucoup and vive Ocarina of Time ! :)

  11. Hello to all of you URA Zelda Team and GCN Community !

I'm Hayate, I'm 19 years old and for those who didn't get it yet, I'm French :P I'm also a huge NIntendo 64 (and The Legend of Zelda : Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask) fan, the greatest console I ever played on. Some years ago, I seen that a community created some texture packs for N64 games. I thought that this modification was the biggest thing to do with all those games. Then, I discovered the GCN Community and the URA Zelda Project, which is the greatest game hack I've ever seen.

As I said I'm a big fan of The Legend of Zelda : Ocarina of TIme. I like all the aspects of the game. The final product, but not only that. I find all the developpement stages interesting, from the first 1995 Tech Demo to the game prerelease. I like also the fact that the game contain some 64DD related content, which mean that the game was able to receive some new content like new dungeons, new quests, new items... So, I was pretty happy when I heard about the URA Zelda Project.

Also, I'm pretty interested into OOT Rom Hacking. It seems really complicated but I think that with some Power, Courage and Wisdom ( ), I can make something with my ignorant hands !

Merci de m'avoir lu ! ;) (And sorry for my poor english  )
