  1. Haha! That is way too cool! Way to go Airikita! I take it then Epona's going to be a large part of this hack?
  2. It almost definitely should! This looks great! If I had an actual controller I would definitely give this a shot, but alas, my poor keyboard really wouldn't allow for the complicated manuevers that OoT Mods ordinarily call for.
  3. You are some sort of wizard! Whereas Airikita can make nearly any model work to her specifications and add new functionality to the actual game itself your hacking seems to go to another kind of expertise. You seem to have a great deal of organizational skill and finesse in how all of your work combines together. Your work on the menus is awe-inspiring and this mod looks like it will be grand! Keep up the fantastic work!
  4. I know that the thread says "Choose between Boss Concepts" and that this has little to do with it, but I got to thinking about some things... since you changed Saria into Ganondorf, would you think of changing Malon or Ingo into Phantom Ganon? Change the Spear into a Rake, change the Black Stallion into Child Epona or a normal Brown Horse. Your mod is... out there and fighting more NPC's would bring the surrealism to its peak.
  5. Ah, it made it here XDaniel because the mention of the .DD filename to the Master Quest files, which apparently means Disk Drive.
  6. That can lend itself to a lot of interesting screen set ups there ChriisTian. Good finds!
  7. Wow. So OoT3D confirms some things about Zelda 64's development some 16 years later! The Wind and Ice Temples are confirmed with more than just a part in Ganon's Castle and a Medallion name, and that URA Zelda was Really the Master Quest, otherwise there would have been no reason to append DD to those files. Great findings! I can't wait to see what else the team locates. Thanks for bringing this to our attention GlitterBerri!
  8. Hmm, I thought long ago I recorded the means to call Epona without winning her... No, no I didn't. I do recall though that I had a picture of doing just that. The problem with that is that the game doesn't seem to remember where she is saved (or called from for that matter) so she will often appear far underground, I couldn't figure out why that happened. As I recall I was experimenting with Event Flags at that point.
  9. Great work Airikita and SanguinettiMods, and a fine idea, JSA! I am looking forward to the progress on these!
  10. This would be quite interesting. "Play As" Mods have always interested me and in OoT especially and with a little bit of elbow grease can make this character quite different from Link by changing animation pointers to create a different fighting style if so desired. But I am slightly confused how we would plan to have Link and other characters as playable in the same mod?
  11. You have surpassed us all! This is absolutely Insane what you have accomplished! Making Saria a replacement for Ganondorf, enabling Young Link to ride Epona, making Link Damagable while on Epona, the list goes on and on! Keep up the paradigm shifting work!
  12. This is incredible! Now if there were only some way to have both and that would be perfection. However this goes above and beyond what I ever thought was going to be done with this. Extraordinarily well done!
  13. Now that is an interesting comparison... probably just for stories sake you'd have to visit Zelda (you have to visit her in ALBW as well anyhow.) Have a Treasure Chest present with the Goron Bracelet so you don't have to necessarily learn Saria's Song (not yet anyhow. Mido should probably still guard the way as an Adult.) If you do, Darunia might give you... 50 Rupees or something if you play the song for him, nothing too Quest Essential considering you can miss the moment by beating Dodongo's Cavern I believe. The stones blocking Zora's River should still be there, but there should be Bomb Flowers there that would only make you need the Goron Bracelet to get through (which you might possibly get in the Royal Family's Tomb, thereby you need Zelda's Lullaby). And from there the Child world would be open. The idea of freeing Saria to get another quest essential item is a very thoughtful idea. What would that item be? In ALBW it's the 4th Dungeon and its getting the Sand Rod, what would be considered its equivalent that Saria could have... the Longshot maybe? That would require you to need those to beat the Water Temple. I guess in this idea for a mod, shops would sell your actual equipment as it works in ALBW then?
  14. Good catch! If you go to the Zelda Wiki apparently Nintendo released an Alphabet regarding the Hylian alphabet of this era... I was really interested in this as well, good work recording it! Unfortunately my eyesight is just a little too poor to make anything out, but it may yet be another alphabet that's unique to Lorule. I *think* I can make out some similar letters, but I wouldn't be able to place them. I just hope the final answer isn't as disappointing as translating the Hylian in the graves in OoT, is it really essential for the Dead to remember the Alphabet?
  15. Now this creates an interesting question... should an OoT Mod allow this sort of freedom? ALBW is revolutionary to the series in a way that hasn't been seen since the first Zelda and even in that you couldn't go to whatever dungeons you liked (or you could go in, but couldn't finish them) In some cases you needed the Ladder or the Flute or the Bow, etc. Whereas in ALBW there's barely any boundaries (except you need the Sand Rod to enter the Desert Palace) Can using OoT as a base and making it more non-linear actually work? Granted there is a bit of that already. Once you have the Bow you can go and do the Fire Temple of Water Temple. The Shadow Temple and Spirit Temple can be done in either order... I think. From a story perspective it makes sense why they would prevent you from leaving Kokiri Forest until you defeated the Deku Tree, but from a gameplay perspective should it be more free? Or is Ocarina of Tim's semi-linearity the nature of the beast? That making it completely non-linear would mess with its formula to a great extent?
  16. Haha! That is so neat! But yes, every Zelda fan should take a few days off to play ALBW to completion. It is an absolutely amazing game with some of the best music in the series and a relatively simple, but well thought out plot.
  17. Dark Link 77? Wha? Is it really you? In any case I would love to watch your review, but unfortunately you have a malformed ?url? up there.
  18. Yes, but which graphics and where? I recall deleting the file from the game and never saw anything out of the ordinary. It was theorized it was used as an early shiny coat or something for Lord Jabu Jabu, but the changes in his model?/actor? made them not function correctly.
  19. As far as I could make out the fHG_Fire is Phantom Ganon's Lightning Attack. I tested it pretty thoroughly a while back and managed to load it independent of Phantom Ganon.
  20. A good find Airikita! Phantom Ganon's bars is an odd one though. In theory they should work like a Clear Trigger though, shouldn't they?
  21. The quality just continues to improve and that Hyrule Castle looks incredible! You've captured the scope and scale of the area to near perfection and with Death Mountain looking menacing in the background it gives the entire scene a much more foreboding feeling than the normal game (due to the perspective).
  22. If there is one way to make a game seem fresh and new it is presentation! You sir are another story in the long legacy of Zelda 64 hacking, and by the time you are finished with this project you will be a large part of it. With the ability to switch the way subscreens (maps?) and the UI (which can be sort of done already, but not easily) looks and feels it can add that feeling of uniqueness to hacks which can separate them from the base game. Incredible work so far! Also I am surprised at the quality of pictures, even after being forced into 4 colors by the editor. I guess it goes to show that both you and Nintendo know how to keep quality. I was using Chrome and as you mentioned everything worked perfectly! (It's still unable to save, right?)
  23. Now that stuff about the Elemental Arrows is very intriguing! It was believed for a very long time that the Sages Medallions would give you their Arrow as well, but I now think I realize why so many of the Sage Scenes awarded Two Copies of the same Medallion... 0098 ovl_En_Du Darunia ROM: 0xD2362C - (24050067) Fire Medallion from Sage Darunia And... ROM: 0xD53E4C (24050067) (From Volvagia Warp) - Fire Medallion Finally... Fire Medallion 0xADCCA0 - (24050067) (From Kakariko Village Exit, after going through Volvagia Warp) It seems quite likely that one of these copies was originally going to be the Fire Arrows, but they didn't want to mess with the established code so they just changed it to receiving the Fire Medallion... three times. (one of those is probably an oversight) This example is present for every Sage... ROM: 0xD53DC0 (24050066) (From Phantom Ganon Warp) - Forest Medallion 00C9 ovl_Demo_Sa Sage Saria ROM: 0xD47F70 (24050066) Forest Medallion (From Sage Saria) And so on and so forth...
  24. Not sure how helpful it is, but I figured out what Fhg_Fire is. Despite it being spawned when Phantom Ganon appears in a painting, it is actually the six pronged Lightning Bolt he shoots down. It does not appear to work with any other variable except for Variable 0001, any other variable freezes the game upon entry, as far as I tested. So 0x006D Phantom Ganon's Lightning
  25. Indeed, we still have yet to figure out how the Ammo Counts actually work and their placements. I would surely love to try and use some of the unused ammo counts, mainly for several items, the Boomerang comes distinctly to mind as an item that could have a "durability" counter, so to speak displayed as Ammo.
