Off the top of my head, I'm banned from GameFAQs, GBAtemp and its IRC channel, IGN, and banned from posting to the gallery on Imgur.

I'm Z-lined from BadnikNET, and banned from these other channels on these networks:

    #3dsdev on EFnet
    #n64dev on EFnet
    #citra on Freenode
    #.blank on Rizon

I walked out on #dolphin-emu on Freenode when I learned two admins are Social Justice Warriors that have a problem with screenshots of Zero Suit Samus' butt in Smash 4.

I wouldn't have it any other way. All of those places betrayed me or held me back. My primary Internet home is here now:

I'm getting back into reverse engineering and am working on an individual function decompiler for N64 ROMs that works as well as how much context I'm baking into it.

Oh, did I forget to mention that you're banned from here as well? Silly me. =P

jkjk, you're all cool, man. Still, that's an impressive ban portfolio.

  2. No problem, dude. Just make sure that you're using the direct link to the image file itself. It should always end in an image extension, like .gif, .jpg, .png, etc.

  3. Welcome to the community! It's nice to have another Australian here.

I checked out your screenshots by manually accessing the URLs. Unfortunately, since Dropbox is not compatible with the image tags (due largely in part to how their algorithms work), I was forced to remove them from the post. However, I recommend using a free image host like Photobucket, or Imgur (the latter which I use all the time, myself), and you'd easily be able to link the images without any compatibility problems.

    Plot

For many years, the Kingdom of Lucis has been at war with the militaristic Niflheim, who has brought nearly all of Eos under its dominion. Lucis's capital city of Insomnia remains unconquered due to the Wall—a magical shield powered by the Crystal that keeps Niflheim's Magitek army at bay, but drains the king of his life-force. An armistice is declared between the two nations, and a political union is proposed via a marriage between Prince Noctis of Lucis and Lady Lunafreya of Tenebrae. However, while Noctis, along with Gladiolus (his bodyguard), Ignis (his driver and cook), and Prompto (his schoolyard friend) are on their way to Altissia, where the wedding is to take place, he learns that Niflheim has betrayed Lucis, and attacked, and that his father, Lunafreya and himself have been announced as dead.

Now tasked with retaking his homeland, Noctis must traverse treacherous lands. Only time can tell if he will succeed.

    Review

10 years. That's about the length of time this game has been in development for. As someone who's been fond of the Final Fantasy XIII trilogy, I was excited when the game was announced as Final Fantasy Versus XIII, and would tie in to the FFXIII universe. However, the game was delayed time and time again. Finally, a few years ago, we received a trailer, which rebranded the game to Final Fantasy XV. Needless to say, I was even more excited. When I finally got my hands on my copy (the Deluxe Edition, heheh), I couldn't wait to get started. I'd played all the demos that were put out before the game's eventual release, and I knew that if they were anything to go off, this game would be amazing.

Firstly, the visuals in this game are breathtaking. The environments have amazing depth to them, and the attention to detail is quite immense. Once again, this series shows off its gravity defying hair, and gorgeous (though somewhat strange) outfits. Monster models are stunning.

The gameplay is wonderful. I wish I could say flawless, but there have been a few bugs I've run into which have either caused the game to crash, or force me to reload because of a glitch. Thankfully, it hasn't happened too much. The controls are pretty simple to get used to, and with an immersive, open world to explore, it's easy to lose track of time. Also, you can drive a car, and while it is somewhat on rails, with limited controls, it's still extremely fun, going on a road-trip.

The music, composed by Yoko Shimomura (she's also the music composer for the Kingdom Hearts games, so bonus!), is quite fitting, and can really help to accompany the emotions of a scene. The voices are wonderful, and for once, you get the choice of four languages to choose for vocals: English, Japanese, French, and German. In what is something rare for me, I have played the game with English vocals, and find them to be quite pleasing to listen to. The icing on the cake is the ability to listen to a playlist of tracks from previous Final Fantasy games, while driving. While it doesn't have all the tracks I'd have liked, there is still an amazing selection.

The combat system has been likened to Kingdom Hearts, and while that is somewhat true, there's also a vast difference. The battle menu is (mostly) non-existant. Similarities are that you only control Noctis, and if his maximum HP reaches 0, it's Game Over. Noctis can hold 4 weapons at once, which you select with the D-pad, by pressing the assigned direction. Enemies are usually free-roaming, though at night-time (and in dungeons), daemons will appear. Depending on circumstances, you can leave combat by running away from the combat area.

Magic is handled quite differently, in that you must craft it. Out in the world are deposits of fire, lightning, and ice elements, which you can absorb and use to craft your spells. Naturally, the more elemental energy you use, the more powerful the spell. However, items can also be fused into the spell to change its effects. For example, fusing a Potion into an elemental spell will cast said spell like normal, but you will also heal Noctis of battle damage. The more items you use, or the more powerful the item, the more powerful the effect.

Finally, how could I talk about a Final Fantasy title without mentioning its story? While I'm not going to spoil anything, I will state that it is extremely powerful, and has the sole achievement of making me cry, unlike other games, which have brought out tears of rage. The game throws out twists and turns, and can be quite overwhelming, but it wouldn't be a Final Fantasy title if it didn't. However, the more engrossed you become, the deeper the connection you have, so there is genuine emotion. Square Enix put a great deal of care into this story, and I was very happy with it.

    Overall

I knew Final Fantasy XV would be a great game, but it has risen to become my favourite of the main numbered, single player titles of the series. That's not to say that it's perfect. Like I mentioned before, there were some critical bugs I encountered, but in addition, there are some parts of the game which became infuriating for me. Granted, it was end-game content, and admittedly, I suck, especially when I'm trying to get through content quickly. Nonetheless, I enjoyed this game immensely, and have already put in almost 150 hours at the time of this review. If you're a fan of the series, I recommend this game. Hell, if you're not, I recommend it anyway.

  5. I don't have either game. :(

If I did though, I'd probably get Moon as well. As for starter, not too sure.

As far as fave character, I too, think Hau is adorable. He's totes in love with the player. Heheh.

  6. As the Deku Tree Sprout popped up, Link gave a yell and fell onto his butt.

    What the-?!

Composing himself, the blond stood up and brushed himself off. Glancing over at Kaze, he blinked, before turning his attention back to the sprout.

  7. The medallion turned into a green orb of light, before separating into two, and floating into the two warriors. Taking a step forward, Link reached out for Saria, but he suddenly began to feel lighter than air.

    "S-Saria..." he choked out. "I..."

His vision suddenly faded as he was swept away, words of friendship being the last thing he heard from Saria. Moments later, he and Kaze were standing in front of the petrified Deku Tree. Link lowered his gaze, staring at the floor, feeling a sting of pain from within his heart.

I imagine a lot of you were 'misled' by the disgruntled ex team members and misinformation they did like to spout of that anger just to get people to hate the project. I would say that 90% of the artwork Spire posted on his blog or whatever was concepts that I had denied due to them not fitting into Zelda lore. He would literally have some whacked out dream(usually about batman) and create a fully detailed concept then get mad it got denied. He would even post artwork to the community without even my consent or approval. We were -never- trying to go dark and edgy. As for Zeth being the end super villain, whoever told you that straight up lied to you guys. The idea we were going for was something the team had came up with during the development and we thought of adding a fun little optional dungeon with some neat puzzles and there would be boss fights in the dungeon. You would have fought the entire Ura team in the Tower of Ura and it had no impact whatsoever on the story. It was just a side dungeon to get new armor, that was literally it and its not the first time developers add themselves as characters into the games they are working on. We named it the Tower of Ura because the project had originally grown so much from the original concept, it was basically our tribute to what started off the project in the first place. The main story of the project literally was about the Sage's seal on Ganon weakening and Zelda sending the Hero of Light to save the sages in the Palaces in the Dark World who were helping maintain the seal from the sacred realm and fix the mistake Zelda made as child by collecting the Triforce of Power from Ganondorf. I really don't understand how that story could be 'dark and edgy'.

Sorry for the rant but when I hear people spout off misinformation about the project it really strikes a nerve.

Pretty much this. Zeth was supposed to be an optional superboss, similar to easter eggs that are placed in games by the developers.

Also, any allusion to the story being dark and edgy can be blamed on my writing. As the one who was solely responsible for creating the dialogue, I was trying to put some urgency into it, and with what was shown, it made it seem dark and edgy, when that was far from the intent.

Additionally, who wouldn't want a boss fight with me? You could try your best to kick my ass. =P

  9. The small water Pokemon nodded.

"I wish I could remember..." he said. "Maybe the mystic kitty can help when we see him."

Silver, who was unintentionally eavesdropping, remained quiet.

I'd like to know as well... what bad things did I do?

  10. The smaller Totodile listened intently, giving a few nods, before glancing up at his big brother.

"It's like that one time before..." he mumbled softly. "I can't remember everything, but something happened... and he was angry."

  11. Walking beside Cynder, the little Totodile glanced at the fire Pokemon.

"Um..." he said in a soft voice. "What was Snappy-niichan like as a human?"

Managing to hear his 'little brother', Silver cringed.

    I hope I don't disappoint you...

  12. Glancing around, Silver noticed that nobody else was nearby, so he glanced at Ethan once again.

"Y'know..." he began. "Despite everything... despite me being a Totodile... despite learning that I appear to be my starter..."

He glanced down solemnly for a moment.

"Despite..." he said softly. "...learning that my life... may have been an illusion..."

He looked up at Ethan, and gave a small smile.

"I'm glad..." he continued. "...that we found each other again."

  13. Silver remained quiet, a flood of thoughts rushing through his mind.

I'm... Snappy. But my Totodile was called Snappy. I stole him from that Professor in New Bark Town. Was that... just a dream?

    The Totodile shook his head.

No, that can't be. Ethan knows who I am. I remember everything I did when I was human. I fell in love with Ethan. I met him three years ago. I remember my human life. This just doesn't make any sense!

As he glanced over at the raven-haired trainer, he gave a smile.

At least we found each other again. Maybe the 'mystic kitty' will be able to clear things up.

  14. Chuckling, the imp leaned down, giving a wide grin.

"That was a soldier's spirit..." she said. "Maybe it's someone from the other world? Eee hee! There are lots of other spirits roaming about here, you know. Hone your senses to see them. They might know things..."

With those words, she gently kicked at Kaze's sides to spur her on.

  15. I will be livestreaming The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD in 5 minutes from the time of this post. I will also be attempting voice overs. Some will sound completely stupid. This is intentional. :P

  16. Ending up in what looked like a sewer, the imp suddenly stopped Kaze, giving a soft giggle as she spoke.

"Eee hee hee!" she laughed. "Want to see something interesting?"

Pointing over to a floating orb, the imp grinned widely.

"You're a beast, remember?" she continued. "Just concentrate, and you can hone your senses and poke around!"

In this topic, I will be posting videos of dungeon runs from Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn (and its Heavensward expansion). Despite the fact that I could solo a majority of these dungeons, I felt it would be best to show them as they were meant to be played (level and equipment synced, proper party make-up, etc). These videos will be posted in order of dungeons, including optional side-dungeons and Hard Mode (once time to film them), and even Trials. To begin, here are the first three videos:

Sastasha: Level 15-18 MSQ Dungeon (White Mage)

The Tam-Tara Deepcroft: Level 16-19 MSQ Dungeon (Paladin)

Copperbell Mines: Level 17-20 MSQ Dungeon (Bard)

    FFXIV Dungeons & Trials (Mini).jpg

The Lylat system is shaken up by a surprise, unprovoked attack from the evil Andross' army. It's up to ace fighter Fox McCloud, and the Star Fox team to put an end to the evil scientist's reign of terror.

    Review
First and foremost, just about everyone who plays this game, or wants to play it, will fondly remember Star Fox 64. To cater to old fans, that's precisely what this game seems to be; a retelling of the hit classic. Many of the lines of dialogue, as well as locations and characters are taken directly from Star Fox 64. However, this game provides enough of a change for it to be refreshing, and not just a complete carbon copy of the N64 classic.

The voice actors return from Star Fox 64, and a lot of work has been put into this game's sound and music, providing a fresh take on things, while retaining some of those familiar melodies in some way, shape or form. However, the visuals have received a massive overhaul, and the models of the characters and enemies are beautiful to look at. The environments are gorgeous, and very full of life. The amount of detail that went into the textures makes me feel like Nintendo are really focusing on bringing the quality of their visuals to the modern day.

The Arwing is back, and is the main method of taking on the levels. However, they now have the ability to transform into the Walker (affectionately referred to by me as "Chicken Legs"), allowing for ground movement, with a simple press of a button. Also returning is the Landmaster, although the Blue Marine has been replaced. Instead, the game introduces the Gyrowing, a small support craft with light weaponry, but a neat little feature is available; a small robot known as Direct-i. This little guy can hack into terminals, disabling enemy fortifications, simply by touching them. In addition, by using specific amiibo, you can change how you play. The Fox amiibo changes the team's Arwings into their Retro forms, from the SNES classic, Star Fox. While cool, there is a setback; the inability to lock onto enemies. Likewise, the Falco amiibo turns Fox's ship into the Black Arwing, which increases damage dealt to enemies, while also increasing damage dealt to you, effectively acting as Expert Mode.

The controls, on the other hand, take a lot of getting used to, and have directly contributed to a lot of cheap deaths, or damage being taken by me. Motion controls are pretty much required to effectively play. The screen displays as the previous games did, but the Gamepad is cockpit view, which is essential for precision aiming. No longer is the A button used for firing. Instead, the ZR button is used. The A button now changes between Arwing and Walker. Somersaults are performed by either pulling down on the left analog stick, and pushing up on the right analog stick at the same time, or more simply by pressing X. To U-turn, flick both analog sticks down together at the same time (this can only be done in all-range mode). Barrel rolling (it's actually an Aileron Roll, damn it) is done by double tapping the right analog stick in the direction you wish to spin. Clicking the right analog stick is how to fire bombs, and clicking the left analog stick (or alternatively, pressing Y) recalibrates the target reticle to the centre. Trust me, you will be doing this a lot. ZL is used to aim at certain objectives, and while in some cases, it works fine, in most, it's a hindrance.

Unlike Star Fox 64, however, levels can be replayed without having to start from the very beginning and working your way to them. This allows for picking up collectables, or trying to complete the mission in an alternate method. It's a nice change. Unfortunately, the AI can be quite annoying. Star Fox AI is rather dull-witted at times, while enemy AI is perhaps a little too difficult, and quite often cheap (I'm looking at you, Mother Strider, and Andross). I've lost lives several times, because of enemies reacting too fast when they're supposed to be disabled, and my battle with Mother Strider took about a half hour for me to complete. Andross was annoying as hell to defeat, although to be fair, I did actually like the battles I had with Star Wolf.

I have yet to try the game's Co-op style. This basically allows player 1 to control the aiming of the reticle and firing weapons with the Gamepad, while player 2 steers the ship with a Wii U Pro Controller. This seems like a pretty cool idea, and one I'm willing to try sometime in the future.

    Overall
If you're a fan of the Star Fox series, it's definitely worth at least giving a go. If you can look past the awkward motion controls, the horrible camera in some sections, and occasional cheap hits/deaths, you will enjoy this immensely. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to enjoy this as much as I would have liked, because of said awkward controls and cheap AI, but that's not to say this game didn't have its fun elements.

  19. The imp continued to giggle, before flying down and landing on the wolf's back. Laughing as Kaze bucked, trying to knock her from her back, she smirked and leaned forward, pulling on one of the wolf's ears.

"Hmph!" she muttered. "I guess you're not completely stupid after all! Listen, I like you, so I think I'll get you out of here. But in exchange for my help, you have to do EXACTLY as I say!"

The smirk widened, the imp watching as Kaze had no choice but to submit to her.

"If you need anything from me, just give me a sign!" she continued. "So, are we all clear? Good. Now, come on! Get moving!"

Patting the wolf a few times, the imp suddenly kicked at her sides, to prompt her into action.

  20. The imp simply jumped back and giggled again.

"There, there..." she teased. "You be a good girl and calm down. No need to bite!"

Grin fading, the imp concentrated, creating a ball of energy between her hands, before shooting it at the chain that restrained Kaze. Satisfied, she chuckled.

"You look kind of surprised!" she said. "Eee hee hee! So! I bet you're wondering, where exactly are we?!"

Giving her wide grin once again, she began hovering in the air.

"Well, I'll make you a deal..." she continued, passing through the bars and onto the outside of the cell. "If you can get over here, maybe I'll tell you! Eee hee!"

Faking a yawn, she smirked at the wolf, waiting for her to figure out how to get out of the cell.
