This story initially began in 1999, but nothing was actually put together until 2001. Work finally began on the project, but the central plot had not been set in stone. It wasn't until a year later, when I finally began piecing together the main storyline. Hopeful that my work might be appreciated, I sent the basic plot to Nintendo, with hopes that they may decide to use it.

Sadly, for legal reasons, they couldn't use any content, but still praised my imaginative story-writing. However, before I could continue, I was the victim of a hard drive corruption, and lost all the work I had done. Discouraged, I put the story on an indefinite hiatus. However, in 2010, I received a renewed passion for writing the story, and commenced again from the beginning.

In late 2011, I suffered a severe case of writer's block while working on the fifth chapter. Fortunately, although it took some time, I was able to conquer the setback, and returned to writing. Extensive edits were made to the first four chapters before working on the rest.

Please note: This story was commenced before the establishment of official timelines, as highlighted in the true bible, the Hyrule Historia. As such, there may be discontinuity. Please disregard this. After all, it's a fanfiction. =P

Characters
Link: The protagonist of the story, and known as the Hero of Time. An adventurous 15-year old who is fated to protect the land known as Hyrule. Ever since returning from Termina, he has continued to reside in the Kokiri Forest.

Navi: Link's guardian fairy, with whom he parted ways upon defeating Ganondorf in a corrupted timeline. She has undertaken advanced training to allow her to become a more effective fairy.

Ganondorf: The King of Evil, who was defeated by Link and Zelda, and subsequently sealed inside the Sacred Realm. His terrifying power and lust for world domination make him a very dangerous man.

Sheik: Sheik is a young Sheikah persona, created by Princess Zelda in an altered timeline, in which to protect her identity. However, as the timeline was restored, there was no longer any need for her to conceal her identity, and he was given form.

The Sages: The protectors of Hyrule's balance. They hail from a wide variety of species, and all of them are treasured friends to Link. However, the Sages seem to have disappeared.

Mido: Self-appointed leader of the Kokiri. For a long time, he gave Link grief, but upon learning of the hardships Link had faced, he patched things up with the hero, and became one of his friends.

Komor: A Goron who is often charged with protecting treasures of the tribe. He once guarded the Spiritual Gem of Flames, before Darunia took charge of it, eventually giving it to Link.

Kazumi: Link's mother, who faded from the land after entrusting her son to the Deku Tree. Her entire existence is an enigma.
